Course Summary
Join me in this course designed for open and curious painters, where we will be exploring colour mixing, brush work, glazing, etc., while drawing inspiration from the renowned Group of Seven and other influential artists. The final class's subject will be chosen by the students themselves, offering a personalized touch to the sessions. Each class presents the opportunity for you to take home a completed painting.
With a small class size of only 4 students, you can expect individualized attention and valuable feedback as we navigate through each step of the painting process together.

My passion lies in painting, and I'm eager to inspire both beginning and intermediate artists as they bring their visions to life.

Is this course suitable for beginners?
This class is designed for painters at all stages of their artistic journey. With a maximum of 4 students per class, I'm able to tailor my feedback and guidance to suit each individual's level of experience.
Where are the classes held?
The classes are held in my ocean view home studio in Qualicum Beach.
Is there a supply list?
We will be working from a limited palette of Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Medium Red, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White and Black so that you don't need to buy a lot of colours. A list of recommended supplies which are easily available at local art stores will be sent to you upon registration.
Do you need to know how to draw to take this class?
Absolutely not! In this painting class, drawing skills are not a prerequisite. Painting is its own art form, and the techniques we'll cover don't rely heavily on drawing expertise. Whether you're a beginner or not confident in drawing, the class will guide you through painting techniques that don't necessitate advanced drawing skills. It's about exploring painting as a unique mode of expression, welcoming all skill levels to create beautiful art.
How many students per class?
My classes have a maximum capacity of 4 students, allowing for a cozy and intimate environment.
Do you teach children?
Children 12 and older are welcome as long as they are taking the class with an adult.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
If you request to cancel the class at least 7 days prior to the start date, you will receive a credit that can be redeemed for a future class within one year from the date of your original class purchase.
